My first paper scrapbook
January 7, 2008
My girlfriend is a SU! demonstrator and holds classes each month for us and I try my very hardest not to miss any of them. Last month she showed us how to make these paper scrapbooks and I just love how they turned out, this is my version but I have the snowman one as well. You can check out hers at stampinggetaway.wordpress.com….it is only a few posts down from the top. I wish I could figure all of this blog stuff out, like how to link directly to hers on here, but I am just not that savvy and I am very tired tonight!
I made this album for my grandparents as part of their Christmas gift from us. Since they live in Nebraska and we live in Colorado we do not get to celebrate this holiday with them very often, so I thought it would be nice to include pictures from the entire holiday. I started with decorating the tree, making sugar cookies, visiting Santa and then Christmas….this way they will be able to share some of the fun we had during this fun time of year. My only problem (and it is nothing big) is that I need more space on the pages for pictures instead of all the layers of paper. This is probably due to the fact that I take my pictures for my 12×12 albums and like to see more of the subject rather than the surroundings, if that makes sense. All in all, I am very pleased with the result and am very happy to give it to someone I love for I know they will love it as well.

My 2007 Album
January 6, 2008
I have to share with you the yummy album that I am working in for the year 2007…..
it’s so pretty! This was never available for sale to the public but at Convention they have some things they will sell to consultants and this was one of them. My upline actually received this album and sold it to my mom last year for Christmas and I just adore the meadow green with the pretty pink flowers! It works so well with my Chalet power palette, and that makes it so easy for me to finish my albums in such a short amount of time. My favorite thing about these pp’s is that I don’t have to think about what will go with my pictures for each page or figure out a border for each page. I can just pick a paper, put down my pictures, some stickers and journaling and I am ready to move onto the next page and since I usually do 2 page spreads both pages are done quickly!
I do hope that you enjoyed seeing my extra special album and that you have a super day!
Family Dance 2007
January 5, 2008
Here is a page I made for my 2007 album that is almost done. I took one of the papers from the Chalet Power Palette and using my wavy trimmer I cut it in 2 and flipped one side over. I think it is kind of cool how the curves don’t match up and there is the color of my page showing through. I just finished it off with a little journal box and a sticker, easy peasy!
I just realized as I was looking for this page to upload here that I have A LOT of pictures to print out so that I can get caught up/finish 2007 and start on 2008. Once I get that all caught up then I can go backwards again to start on my 2003 album, or maybe I will take a break from that and get the girls’ school albums caught up as I have been a bad girl with that the last 2 years. I also have a Christmas album to catch up on and then a portraits album to start on again. Some of these I find are better to just work on and get caught up on so then you can focus on the new stuff and then nothing gets lost or ruined because it sits too long in a storage container or in a file. That is just how I see it, does anyone else have any other way that they work on albums or store items to work on at another time? I have also been bad about working on my albums because I have been playing with making cards more…..I got some nestabilities dies for xmas and just got to try them out last night! I am so excited about them, but the best thing is that I can use my CM paper with them and use them on pages, like to frame a journal box or photo….I am almost drooling thinking of all I can do with this babies!!!! I got the entire set of rectangles, scalloped and plain….such a shock, but I was so happy to get them! Sorry I just kept going, I guess I need to update more often so I don’t do this again!
Thanks for stopping by, please let me know you were here!
Have a super day!!!!
My daughter’s first scrapbook page!
January 4, 2008
I love this page because of course Annie made it, but also because it is so stinking cute! At her best friends birthday they took the pictures when they all arrived and printed them out so they could make these as part of the party. Since I was not there to give her any help (or try to do it myself) this is what she came up with. I am going to have to move the one picture off of the side so that I can fit it onto my album pages, but I am so very proud of her for doing such a great job. I am sure she would love to see any comments you might have on her first attempt!!!
Have a super day!
My Collage Page
December 13, 2007
I am so excited to be back to sharing some of my scrapbooking pages I have made, and this one happens to be a good one! We all have those extra pictures that don’t really go with any theme and we only have one or two of them….not enough for one whole page. That is where this idea came from, I took all of those extras (the pics I had to have) and fit them together on one page as a collage. I also have the issue with almost every album of an extra blank page somewhere in the book to fill, so this takes care of both at the same time! I know this is probably nothing new to everyone, but just in case someone has not heard of this before, I thought I would share.
Have a super day and tomorrow I will share my daughters very first scrapbook page……
Happy Birthday Annie!!!
November 27, 2007
My oldest just turned 11 yesterday…..I know, bad mommy!!! I can’t believe how fast both of my girls are growing up. Of course she got to choose our dinner last night and so Taco Bell it was! Not my favorite, but she loves it! Then we had chocolate cream pie instead of cake, she and her sister are not really into birthday cake which is a good thing since their dad is!!!
Have a super day!
Happy Birthday Emi!
November 21, 2007
Today is my baby’s birthday, gosh I can’t believe how fast it is all going! We are off to celebrate with family tonight and then do a bigger get together this weekend. Hopefully I can get these pages done soon and post them before the end of the month……we’ll see!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and make sure to take plenty of pictures!!!!
Last cards of the challenge!
November 6, 2007
Here are my final 3 entries for this card challenge, again my thanks go out to Angel for her inspiration to try 31 cards in 31 days!! She is giving away a huge box of goodies to her winner, but I feel like a winner already because I finished all the cards on time, even a little early on a few
Also, Angel did point out to me on my last post that #5 should really be #27.
Thanks for looking and have a super day!!!
Caught Up!!
November 3, 2007
I am officially caught up on Angel’s challenges through today! I am so proud of myself for getting this far! I hope you like these cards, some of them are great and others are so-so.
Sorry once again for the blurry pics.
Have a super day and feel free to comment on which cards you like best, or any suggestions!
Again, #27 is made from part of the same card from my last post! Thanks Pam for the great colors on that card!!!! (I actually had to use the card in parts as I spilled water on the card and did not want to waste the whole thing!)
More challenge cards
November 2, 2007
I am almost totally caught up, I think I still have about 4 cards along with todays sketch left to do! Here they are….
Again, some of these are blurry, sorry about that. The Dare to be Fabulous card was made with part of a card I had made at Pam’s stamp camp A Stamper’s Getaway, so I have to give her proper credit on this card and the birthday card on the next post.
This has been so much fun for me so far, I am proud of myself for getting this many done. I hope that next week I can start posting more page ideas, so check back often!
Have a super day!
