Color challenge
April 15, 2008
I have gone against what I said and done another card today, this one was inspired by both Pam at Paper Askew and the CPS challenges. I am not sure I hit either on the head, but I did have fun trying to work with the colors and sketch together to make one card. You can’t really see it because I only used versamark, but the red part does say Happy Birthday on it to go along with the balloons. I had planned on using more color on the background and also using some black, but I am happy with how it turned out!
More cards….
April 3, 2008
Here are the last of the cards I did get completed before we moved. After this, I am going to have to stick to scrapbook pages as I have not put many up for awhile. Of course, I like to put pages up that are interesting and different and not just each and every page I make…so that may take awhile.
This first card is one I made using a page completion kit from Creative Memories and Papertray’s Warmest Wishes stamp. As a consultant I end up with a ton of these kits and wanted to try using it as a card, of course these pictures are SUPER blurry…sorry!

The second card is made with Papertray stamps again, LOVE those stamps! It was a card we gave to one of our neighbors when we moved.

This card is very hard to read, but it does say Thank You in the middle of the orange layer. I used my mini shape maker from CM on the white layer, the colors are really great together….very spring like!

This is another card that I made with a couple of stickers I have had for awhile and a SU stamp.

I really love this last card, I used the scoring trick to make the lines on the background. Then I took a sanding block to make the lines show up more and then just added the paper and ribbon, very simple!

Thanks for looking and have a super day!

I’m still here….
March 14, 2008
Sorry I have been MIA for awhile. We did move on the 28th of Feb and are loving the new place a lot, but do not have internet set up at this time. I hope to get it up in the next week or two and then I can post the rest of the cards I did for that challenge….a little late, but I wanted to share them. Then I am going to get my butt in gear and start working on catching up on scrapbook pages, I hate being so far behind. Really I am not that far behind, but I have not done anything for the current year yet and still need to finish up 2007 and then work on school albums. The school albums are a big huge thing now since the girls have started a new school and guess how bad of a mommy I have been so far……not one single picture of the girls going to the new school or getting on the bus or meeting their new teachers. Bad, bad, bad mommy…..this is going to be much harder to catch up on that I originally thought! So enough blah blah blah from me and I will be back soon with more cards and hopefully some pages.
Cards, cards, cards
February 23, 2008
I have been packing for the last few days, with my Mom’s help (thanks Mom!!!) She has been helping do the girls’ rooms as I would never get anything else done if I had to do them. So after she left I took some time to work on cards (I figure if I make some cards with the scraps in my scrap drawer then it is less I have to move
Here are a few I finished today, sorry some of the pictures are so bad.
This first card is very simple, I used the Baroque Motifs stamp from SU and my white craft ink for the main part. I always love bright blue and yellow together ![]()

This second card is the birthday card I made for my daughter’s friend. I used Papertrey’s flower and cupcake stamps from the endless labels set and the happy birthday is a sticker. I also used my CM mini punch flowers on the oval….I think it turned out very cute.

The third card is one I have made in advance for my best friends new baby girl that is due soon. I have had these bottle stickers for at least 8 years (yikes!) and thought they worked great for this card. Again, I used my pencil eraser with SU pretty in pink for the dots and a sticker on the pink band. You can’t see it very well, but I did stamp PTI’s flower along the band as well.

These next two cards are for my daughters teachers since this will be their last week at this school
This is going to be a very hard week for me and the girls, saying goodbye to the only school they have gone to, saying goodbye to all of the friends we have all made and their great teachers!

More cards…
February 21, 2008
Wow! I am so psyched to see all of the views of my blog, but you are all sure VERY quiet!! I know it is hard some times to come up with something to say when you do look at a lot of blogs each day
So onto the cards, the first card is pretty simple and still needs the sentiment but I felt it could wait until it is being used. It could say “Oh Boy”, “For You” or “Happy Birthday” what do you think?

(I sure do wish I could take better pictures!)
This second card is something I really love, one that just comes together after looking at it for a bit. I had these stickers from a christmas party exchange over a year ago and I just kept looking at them wanting to find a use for them. Then I just started playing with my punches and came up with the window and frame and it went from there. I love the color combo of the orange with the blue (wish I could remember the names of these papers) the dots are made using a pencil eraser and I feel it just finished it off perfectly.

Valentine Card for my Hubby
February 20, 2008
This is the card I made for my hubby. I tried to make it work for the sketch challenge given by Anna (sweet miss daisy) but don’t think I achieved it. I really love the way it all turned out, not the usual colors for a valentine’s card, but they work well together. I enjoy working on cards when I have a sketch idea as that is where my creative block really is. If I sit down at my table and try to come up with ideas with what is sitting out, I end up hating how it turns out (am I the only one who does this?) Of course I must have had a creative muse with me yesterday as I was able to complete one card on my very own, I will share that one either later today or tomorrow.

We are kind of in crisis mode right now trying to find out if we are closing on our house and moving next Thursday or not, if we are I need to get packing. We have also had to deal with my hubby getting into a car accident (no injuries thankfully) and being down to one car for about 2 weeks. So with all of that going on I have not had time to get creative with my scrapbook pages. Maybe once we get the final answer on moving or not today I can clear up enough room to get busy….otherwise it might not be until sometime in March once we get settled and unpacked in our new place.
Have a super day!
Class Valentines
February 19, 2008
This year my girls and I bought pencils to give out instead of candy…..boy, do we ever NOT give candy anymore? So I had to come up with a clever idea on how to make them into something cute that they could write their names on and so I went onto the internet (love that thing!) and typed in valentine pencils and these came up. We had so much fun making these, I cut out the hearts with my CM personal cutting system and then used my SU two hole punch for where the whiskers went. The pipe cleaners held the pencils in place on the backside and the girls got to decorate the faces for their friends. Even my 11 year old was happy with these as her valentines, I was sure she would not want to use them as they might be too young, yeah me!!! (If you ever watch The Suite Life of Zach and Cody, you know how funny that last part is!) Hope you enjoy these and tomorrow I will be back with the first of my 14 cards I am making this month for a challenge given by 1 crafty gal.

Boy, am I gonna have fun scrappin’ this page!

As you can probably tell from the picture (click on the picture to enlarge), our little 6 month old kitten was stuck up about 60 feet in this tree for about 8 hours yesterday. Here in Littleton, CO it has been bitter cold so we knew she could not stay up there all night. We went through every single agency we thought might be able to help us or give us a number of someone to help…..NO ONE WILL DO ANYTHING!!! Talk about frustrating! It was like they told us to watch her die up there a slow, sad death. So my hubby and our neighbors rigged up a long pole and got up as high as they could with ladders and tried to get her into a basket. After about 30 mins of watching her play with the basket we made up a loop on the end of the pole (kind of like what they use to catch dogs with) and put it around her neck and yanked her out of the tree. At that point it was more humane to me to do that than to watch her starve or freeze to death up there. She is fine and very happy to be an indoor cat now, just like I wanted her in the first place!
